The darker the sky, the better the stars shine.
No stars in the second design, but the gold and white shine anyway.
When looking at Christmas lights in daylight we do not see the colours or the sparkle of the stars.

Could be a single bed quilt … or a wall-hanging.
Need to experiment a bit with the border colours, but I like the results so far to keep playing.

I opened a file by mistake, and although it is not a Christmas project I thought I could share a couple of designs from it.
The second design in particular could be a Christmas feature on a table, bed or wall.

I should have changed those sprays of leaves to holly leaves to make the deigns in this file look more Christmassy, and added a bit of white, but I the designs it as they are so they could be used all year round, and because I think they look like something which may have been made early last century just for the Christmas season.
The second design is my favourite of the two.

Looks interesting and a bit weird!
A neat and tidy design, but one which looks as though I could have some fun playing with it!
I like the one above …
… and the one below.
The two designs above are both very interesting and would look great on a bed.
The last one for today would look stunning in a lot of different colour combinations.
I love the group photo … being able to see the five designs at a glance is always interesting, but these are a great combination in my never really humble opinion.
read moreVery interesting!
I like my Christmas decorations to be red, white and green, with golden highlights … these two designs fit perfectly.
read moreLove the design above … a very jolly combination of Christmas colours.
Love the second design too … I think, maybe , my favourite is the first, but I may be wrong!
read moreVery interesting! I was going to reverse the inside trees but liked them as they are, so left them inside out, or upside down, or whatever.
I like the second design too … all the trees are upright, and so are the snowmen!
read moreNeeds some quilting! Stars with gold thread perhaps, or angels flying around.
I love the second design … suitable for any time of the year.
read moreVery suitable for Christmas, but also suitable for any other time of the year.
The holly and gingerbread men adds more Christmas flavour to the second design.

The second one would also work in many colour combinations.
I like the one above!
Very interesting.
Love the last!
One day I should print off three inch square red white and green quilt designs and hang them on a tree … which means I need another tree … and space to put it!
That is all for this week, but there will be more Log Cabin designs mid week, next week.
read moreLove the first design … would make a great table cloth, except for the chance that someone would spill the cream on the cloth rather than pour it on the pudding!
Love the second one too, and as we have a special quilt for the bed already, perhaps I would find a spot to hang it on a wall.
read moreIt’s the middle of another week already, and I like the first Log Cabin design but worry that the weeks are getting shorter. Not too mention the years.
The second design is very interesting!
Another very interesting design.
The project file these come from has no new designs at the moment, but I might just find some time to play with some of the designs with the cross in the centre … I like all of these, but can see changes which just might make them better.
I think the second design is my favourite, but it will be interesting ...
read moreI like the first design of this week’s Log Cabin design variations.
The second design is very interesting!
Another interesting design.
Just a thought … Log Cabin blocks would be a good substitute for an autograph book, with the signatures added to the light strips, with the option of adding embroidery.
On second thought, I would add signatures to quilts with less blocks than those in the collection, but the general idea would make a great family heirloom in any size.
My favourite today is the second design.
That is all for this week … more Log Cabin design’s mid ...
read moreI love the first design today, but can see something I want to change … not a big change, but it needs to be changed.
The second design is boring when compared to the first one!
read moreCurved seams are nowhere near as difficult to do as people think … I use no pins and can put together the blocks for a cot quilt with 12 inch blocks in about half a day, including a coffee break, and in a one day class I have seen people go home with the same size quilt together, and they had to cut the pieces before they started.
These two designs use the same block design, but the colours have been mixed up a bit.

Also interesting!
I am thinking that I should have saved this project file until next month … but I guess I can use it again then as the colours will suit the red, white and green theme I try to use during the lead up to Christmas Day.
Talking of Christmas, the design above could be printed out and glued to a pieced of cardboard and hung on a Christmas Tree!
I think the last one is my pick of the day, but I may change my mind after another coffee.
That is all for this week’s mid week ...
read morePick a star block, and make some blocks as the instructions show, then make others with some of the coloured fabrics replaced by the background fabric. Note that some seam lines can be eliminated in th e background changes.
My favourite of these two is the second one, but it was a hard choice.

The second one is much more interesting, and my favourite for today.
